A compact piece of fiction written as if an expert is
teaching through an essay. In the short
fiction essay the author creates an entire world and gives the narrator
character without ever telling us anything about the author that isn’t him
talking about his art. This style is a unique
way to make readers think about the world or the people that would surround
this essay.
My attempt at using
this style.
Pig bowling is a heinous tradition
that the people of Luxia have participated in for centuries. Nobody has ever tried to stop this brutal assault
on pigs. Ever since there was a new
strain of swine flue people have used pigs as bowling balls. Someone stacks various items of different weights
at the end of a mud slide ramp. The bowler then yanks the pig by then neck and
hurls them down the ramp. There is a pig
mortality rate of 60% from initial impact and then 80% of the rest die from
untreated wounds. Pigs haven’t been used
for food since the epidemic instead they are bread solely for this purpose. Please
stop this madness.
