Watermelon Seeds
A fairy carried
watermelon seeds
in a shred of cloth
in her pocket
through the forest
as thunder boomed overhead.
But the pouch had
a hole and the seeds
fell out during the journey.
Once the fairy discovered
this it was too late
to recover the seeds
due to the rain.
The fairy thought
for a moment
and then smiled
knowing watermelon
would grow somewhere
in the forest even if
it wasn't her desired garden.
